Yes,
I'm a paleo
nerd. I
admit it - I find all things paleo interesting. No matter if
it's geography, stratigraphy, taphonomy, diet, climate, or
bones , I love it. OK, bones not so much...
It's
like
being a
kid
in a candy store. I have to thank my advisor for
bringing
out the paleo nerd in me.
After working at Koobi Fora, I realized that I have an interest that is very broad, and understanding the total environment that our earliest hominid ancestors were living in is very important to me. I'm especially interested in the effects of the changing climate, and how it affected the diet and nutrition of those hominids present in the Lake Turkana region of Kenya.
In my
spare time
(whatever
that is), I tend to build computers, build websites, and knit.
I

The Basics
" The word "hominid" refers to members of the family of humans, Hominidae, which consists of all species on our side of the last common ancestor of humans and living apes. (Some scientists use a broader definition of Hominidae which includes the great apes.) Hominids are included in the superfamily of all apes, the Hominoidea, the members of which are called hominoids.
